Ha ha, yes that is quite possibly a big part of the reason!! I also really like the quite dark colour palette. Not that I only like dark paintings, but it works really well with that subject.
I work with textiles, making quilts. Love your painting too. I apreciate the work that goes in it. My Great-grandmother and Great-aunt both work with Water color.

Great Texture. My favorite is the first photo. The color and the texture in it is amazing!
